6 legs


At this point in the assembly of my "behind the sofa table" of maple and walnut, the leg assembly is nearly complete as you can see. Next, after the wedges are sawn tight and the tenons are sanded, I'll rout the grooves in the top to match the sliding dovetails at the top. That way, the two parts of the top can simply slide into place from the front and back. No metal fasteners will be required. I normally don't work on top of the table saw like this, but it is the only guaranteed flat for assembly spot in the shop.
